Maui Gold Returns for Its 11th Summer
Maui Gold. I don’t even know where to start with such a legend. Let me begin by saying that Maui Gold is one of my personal favorite Private Stock scents. After creating Waikiki in 2014, I fell in love with creating tropical scents. I chased that passion and it led me to craft Maui Gold, a tropical scent blend of lemon, lime and coconut.
It’s sweet while remaining clean and fresh. The balance is just right. Maui Gold was the Hawaii-inspired coconut scent I was looking for. At the time, it was the most satisfying scent I had the pleasure of creating.
The label is clean, with a soft blue that pairs perfectly with the gold. While designing it, I went through a number of background variations before landing on the final direction. Interestingly, the pattern I later used for Montego actually originated here. I had several label proofs printed to see what looked best in person, and the soft powder blue stood out immediately. It gave Maui Gold exactly the feeling I wanted it to have. Bright, relaxed, warm, clean and refined.
Maui Gold was originally launched in the summer of 2016 and has returned every summer since. This year marks its 11th summer and as I said, it’s still my personal favorite. It truly captures the Hawaiian air without being a cliché tropical blend. I have so many great memories attached to wearing Maui Gold in my beard and mustache.
Over the years, our customers have shared numerous stories of what Maui Gold has meant to both them and those around them. Creating a product that is enjoyed by many brings me such joy as a creator.
This year, Maui Gold returns as a full collection Friday, May 22nd. It features matching Premium Beard Oil, Balm, Butter, Wash and Mustache Wax.
